The youngest daily newspaper readers!
People tend to think that nowadays, the daily newspaper media type is embraced only by an ageing audience. This doesn't count for the FD, in any case. Nearly 60% of all FD readers are in the category 25-54 YO. These are people in the prime of their life, often in Social Class A and the highest income class (W1).
The Dutch population is ageing and the number of people <65 is decreasing in relative terms. For many daily newspapers, the average age of their readers has increased with this demographic development. As many as 56% of FD readers are aged 25 to 54. This means the FD has the youngest daily newspaper readers in the Netherlands. The selectivity index of 120 for this target audience shows that the FD has a high chance of hitting its mark here, too.
